Denniz Gbedula is leaping from Port Harcourt to creating global standard films.

As you can see, Denniz Gbedula has spent a decade plus exploring film making. He learned his craft professionally from one of Port Harcourt based legendary director Bobby Rak. As a very curious individual, he transitioned his curiosity from life especially at tender age to creating value through visual contents.
According to him during a morning interview with Port Harcourt Gist on Facebook. “When I was 10, I disassembled and reassembled my family’s old Television set to see how it works” He said. “This level of curiosity has transitioned into my professional work and motivated me to create content value through videos and documentaries. My love for visual content also started at an early stage when I discovered I had a very big advantage in imagination.”
For Denniz Gbedula who has spent morethan ten years within the creative spaces. He heads a company tagged “Picturesque Entertainment” which has works with several reputable music record label companies and acts making waves within the Southern region. The likes of Dandizzy, Dr. Barz, Gthree Mayami and more. Also, telling the African story has been a sizable drive behind his work apart from directing music videos. He has a couple short films and documentaries with a slew of film producers, actors/actresses.
In his words “I intend telling our core African stories in film for all the world to see our true heritage. I intend creating and enabling an environment for budding film makers to acess equipment and funds to tell their stories” He said with intense passion. Adding that he also desires to build a unique TV station and a media circle that would consistently promote indigenous works for the major promotion of talents for the Southern region.
Denniz Gbedula is also of the idea of embracing our culture. Which entails that we give our actors and actresses roles to play on films. With the use of our dialect and all that enticing Afro flavour mix to suit international standard film makers. This iconic film maker and director debuted his first video on MTV Base and Soundcity in 2017. Had his short film “Sobriety” screen at EKo Film Festival Lagos. He also has been nominated on several prestigious award recognitions like the GMAs (Galaxy Music Awards) best music video director. As well as he has secured an award of excellence issued to him by Independent Advancement Awards 2021.
Currently, Gbedula dreams of conquering the world. Becoming recognized at the Oscars in less than five years. With severe hardwork and input which he has promised himself to put in developing his craft and creative style. For his words to other growing directors within the Southern region and beyond. “Start putting your works out there no matter how small or insignificant. The world is content hungry” He said with so much confidence. While he presently has a big documentary shot around somewhere in Nigeria during this forth coming festivities.
He is pushing hard with all his belief that one day all his dreams would become a reality before his eyes. Denniz Gbedula is leaping from Port Harcourt to creating global standard films.
