Meet the Port Harcourt based Radio, TV Presenter & Voice over Artiste Henry Talker. Port Harcourt based Photographer Hanselshots. 19-year old Port Harcourt Altè and R&B singer Hamsa Illamina. The multi talented Port Harcourt based visual and recording artiste Gr33ne. Including the Port Harcourt based rapper, poet, V.I.C Thewordsmith, alongside the Afro-fusion singer-songwriter — Prince Ahami.
Hamsa Illamina
Hamsa Illamina is musically incredible. The 19 year old young fascinating and fast rising creator started music just recently, and he has successfully seeded himself as a promising youngster. Illamina has powered hot takes that include a 3-track EP alongside a slew of singles added to his catalog, one of his recent offering is titled — “Busy Body.”
Hamsa, draws huge Inspiration from great iconic stars like, The Weekend, Fela Kuti and Micheal Jackson. The trio have become a core part of his artistic process which has been watered with his westernized accents he portrayed on our previous interview as much as it shines through his intentional musicality. Hamsa Illamina exudes so much confidence, he performed live at the annual Port Harcourt Bolé Festival, at the previous edition of the “Listening Party” alongside other amazing fast rising stars from the city of Port Harcourt.
Henry Talker
In the past three years within Port Harcourt creative spaces, Henry Talker, has become a frequent event and red carpet host within Port Harcourt.
Currently, he hosts Port Harcourt city’s most renowed monthly “The Listening Party.” Talker, also anchors as OAP on the weekly Friday “Frenzy Show” on the indigenous 103.7 Excel FM in Port Harcourt. He has shared redcarpet moments with the popular most talked about female Cool FM Port Harcourt OAP Honey Ojukwu, and has hosted interviews with both local and Nationally recognized personalities during huge events and commercials in Port Harcourt city.
In addition, Henry Talker is one of those young, interesting personalities from Port Harcourt. He is a Mass Communication graduate from Rivers State University and also an enticing broadcaster who is gradually taking Port Harcourt to the world stages.
Hanselshots
For Hansel Ohioma popularly known behind the lens as Hanselshots, He has been capturing many moments with amazing personalities. The likes of Davido, Soso Sobrekon, Olamide, Ycee, Omah Lay, Bnxn fka Buju, Ruger, Rema, Wizkid, Bella Shmurda, and more.
He is one of those distinct shooters who properly handles the camera that whenever he attends your events or concert, you would receive nothing short of iconic photographs. Currently, his works has appeared on popular platforms like TechCrunch on commercial Photo shoots and lots more. Hansel, has also received accolades for his works from industry heavy weights and his phographs are often deeply oriented and passionate whenever he captures those beautiful moments, within and outside the city of Port Harcourt.
Gr33ne
Monima Henry Jaja, popularly known as Gr33ne. He is also one of the brightest young things from the city of Port Harcourt. Gr33ne is an incredible visual artiste and a recording artiste whose music strongly reflects both the Caribbean and Jamaican culture.
He has an 8-track extended play recently released titled “Too Beautiful To Explain Myself,” which is more western Influenced than local as much as his musical demography is much more international than local. Gr33ne believes his got the refreshing, viable and one of the most interesting sounds the world haven't paid attention to yet. He is proud to come from Port Harcourt. Meanwhile, he can be considered as one of the young brightest things from the oil rich city in Nigeria.
V.I.C Thewordsmith
Victory Oghale Okurakpo popularly known as V.I.C Thewordsmith shouldn't just be considered as a rapper. He is a renowed poet, beyond being referred as a spoken word artist, his musicality allows him weave words in a unique fluidity of expression with articulation in storytelling and proper rhyming. He is one of the brightest things from the city, releasing his debut EP “Trance” earlier this year and is currently launching for more.
According to him, “music is personal to me, it is my favourite mode of expression.” And it is something he has decided to share with the world, with you and I. In his words, “I’m an introspective introvert, and for me, the Trance EP gives people an exclusive access into my thoughts addressing issues like self-doubts, heartbreak, love, intimacy, depression, and the overall pressures of trying to fit into expectations.” He broke down and further said “at the time I made Trance EP, I was in a trance", He said genuinely. Thewordsmith is one to watch out for.
Prince Ahami
For Prince Ahamefulla known by his stage name Prince Ahami. He is one of Port Harcourt’s best kept secret. Highly talented fast rising Port Harcourt based Afro-fusion singer-songwriter, one of the new schools minting a Burna Boy's esque like records capable of championing his generation and the one that is to come.
Currently, his powered a genre bending single titled — “For You.” Ahami, has been working round the clock to unleash a proper mind blowing Afro-fusion project. The Prince is ready to take on the world as he is one of the brightest young things from the city of Port Harcourt. Pay close attention — Prince Ahami is coming on us… with too many fresh things.
