Nigerians, your problems are not new Naira currency notes. Beware!
The Naira notes really has nothing to do with us, our problems are bad leaders and our corruption haunting us. It is high time we open our eyes and beware.
Internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo-Yahoo within the Nigerian community, always on the hike. An illegal business to earn cold cash often powered by average young Nigerian citizens. It would be injustice to tag that negative stigma on just mean young Nigerian youths, even as old and advanced folks dwelling within the Nigerian community also enroll in scamming and defrauding other individuals.
Quick one, the Central Bank Of Nigeria announced a currency redesign prior to this moment that a color change in currency notes has been implemented. According to recent official release of the Nigerian Federal Government. The redesigned notes surfaced on Cyberspaces and has left many Nigerians in a frenzy, with a multiple conversation going on several social media platforms about the whole nature of the re-designed currency.

Many Nigerians are against the fact that the Government has no slight idea of what redesigning a note means. According to the popular Nigerian Port Harcourt based comedian KOBaba, who shared a video with fans on social media. He claims that the Government has no true idea of the disparity between what redesigning a note and mere coloration of the note demands. Expecting something more he states that the Naira notes samples suggestedly dished out earlier would have been better than the present viral note coloring. Also, many Nigerians expectations as to what an idea of a brand new designed Naira note should be like failed. Many have went on to express their degree of disappointment for the current Nigerian currency and government.
A handful Naija citizens applauded and rightly bought into the idea when it first surfaced that the CBN would remake Naira notes. Expectations of Nigerians went above the roof to the point that Naira note samples were made at the time and many believed in the new hope and visions of Nigeria. Currently, lots of Nigerians are overtly in shame, feeling disgraced that Nigeria has no way forward. Some claiming the notes have become inked, some added that it is simply a Snapchat filter versions, others tagged it a bleached note and so forth.
There is more to this. It is a two side of a coin. That the rate of scammers and how this new leave of Nigerians through the naira currency could also motivate cyber criminals and those so called Yahoo-Yahoo gang (Fraudsters). While Nigerians would keep complaining and pleading a change in currency. It is keeping Nigerians in a perplexed state. According to Samuel Jaja, a graphics and product designer from Port Harcourt. “I have received two phone calls today from unknown numbers claiming that they want to upgrade my bank account” He said. “The caller refused to identify himself but yet further tried to convince me how I should pick interest in this whole bank upgrade story” He revealed. Also, this writer received a phone from one 09166924*** four hours ago as the caller with an undisclosed name claimed that my bank has an upgrade issue. After further conversations, the writer found it was a foul play.
The truth is that same way Nigerians are claiming the unreliability of the current Naira notes, it is same way some unenlightened Nigerians might full prey into the traps of these criminals which would be lurking around to loot other people’s money through deception. Nigerians, I understand that you are unhappy and sad about the whole state of the nation. Yes. I also understand your feelings towards the whole saga and how you so want a better leader than even the current Naira notes. The choice is still yours to make rather than dwelling on a common mess such as this. The Naira notes really has nothing to do with us, our problems are bad leaders and our corruption haunting us. It is high time we open our eyes and beware.
Fraudsters are out there looking for who to devour through this easy opportunity they have at hand to explore. Many Nigerians would receive more phone calls where the caller would also request that their accounts be upgraded. Be wise. Same way you should walk more circumspectly to choose your forth coming leaders wisely, else... “of course you should know by now that we are in a loop and truly there is no one to save us from this mess. We wait for a saviour, only one that can...”
