Oliwo Feyisike Alero, 23, is a young female Nigerian entertainment enthusiast. Whose curiosity has been the bedrock for understanding the entertainment business in Nigeria. Growing up for Feyisike Alero, popularly known as Siksss, who graduated from Babcock University where she studied Mass Communication. She confirmed that she had a comfortable and decent childhood amidst great parental guidance.
While navigating her way into the entertainment industry in Nigeria. Oliwo Feyisike Alero, revealed how she always wanted to remain behind the scene in the industry. Being a renowed talent manager, music video producer, a public relations and promotional strategist. She also revealed that she has always liked the art of entertainment and what it represents.
According to Siksss, “I’ve always liked the art of entertainment and what it represents, but I knew I didn’t want to be in front of the screens or on stage. I always wanted to know and be involved in what goes on behind the scenes and how they made it look seamless in front of the screens and on stage. I didn’t know how broad it was until I started learning about it,” She said. For Siksss, admiring other women in entertainment such as Vanessa Amadi. Amongst others, is a part of what shaped her perspective about the entertainment scene.
Oliwo Feyisike Alero, disclosed during our interview. How she always knew that she wanted to do something similar to what Vanessa Amadi does. Which made her dabbled into stage management, organizing concerts for various artistes and many other things surrounding entertainment. Prior to when she figured out exactly what she wanted to do in the industry. Currently, she is navigating a progressive career within the creative landscape. From working towards achieving set goals. Gaining lots of experiences which constantly propels her to excellently getting jobs done.
While she is presently affiliated with bright Nigerian talents such as L.A.X, fast rising Nigerian producer/DJ duo known as Smeez and D3an.
Siksss, shared with Unusual’s Newsletter, her peculiar perception about the Nigerian creative industry. Directly focusing on the music sector which she boldly confirmed has been doing so well. From how the industry keeps gaining traction and multiplying it’s recognition and respect on a global scale. Sikss, pointed how there can always be room for improvement. In terms of our unity and how we represent ourselves globally. In her words, “With those improvements in place, in the next 10 years the Nigerian creative arts industry will be unstoppable,” She said confidently.
However, in the next 10 years for her career in the creative landscape. She envisions herself being a full time music executive. From establishing her own management and public relations company. She feels highly positive highlighting that she would love to work with everyone who has a vision they want to bring to life. Mentioning a few renowed names within the creative stratosphere. Such as Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Jada Pallock, Vanessa Amadi, Alexa Rae, and more. Finally, Oliwo Feyisike Alero, advised other young female creators like herself trying to navigate in the Nigerian creative industry.
She said, “Honestly, just follow your heart. Follow your dreams, go to the right places so you can meet the right people and have the right conversations. I’m still on my way up, but that’s what I’ll say for now. You also need to be determined because it is not easy for females in the creative industry. 70 percent of people already look down on you because you’re female. So just keep going and doing your thing, they’ll hop on board.” She concluded and was grateful we had her the interview.
